Dogarazzi: Week 18

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sadly, due to a dial-up internet connection, pictures of Ted meeting a dozen new people, including cousins, aunts, and uncles, plus a new dog, are not yet available. I’m glad that A) Ted loves loves loves meeting people and B) everyone around here is a dog person, so I don’t have to be on-call for the majority of the time.

One thing’s for sure: traveling with a dog requires a heck of a lot of gear, even for just one night. How does one 12-pound dog manage to fill up half the trunk with stuff? It’s like he has his own entourage to attend to his needs; namely, JG and me.

Dogarazzi: Week 18

Despite Ted’s high-maintenance ways (I kid), and although I will not be mentioning this during the “what I’m thankful for” go-around, I am thankful for our little puppy. I just hope he doesn’t have any carsickness on the way home, seeing as he’ll be sitting on my lap…

Last night, I tried the “beg my dad for a puppy” strategy. Sadly, even that did not work!

Aww, Papa Sass couldn’t be persuaded? Very sad.

Is that a book? Does he get bedtime stories?? I can’t let Bugs know–he is already high maintenance as it is. But I hear ya, traveling with a dog requires a lot of stuff.

It’s, uh, a photo album of just Ted pictures. The family has dubbed it “Ted’s baby book” and I’m pretty sure that it has pushed me over the line to crazy person, but whatever. The pictures are SO CUTE.

Ben is thankfully a light traveler. We usually just bring his leash, and maybe a couple of bowls. He’ll sleep anywhere, so no blanket is necessary. And he’s a nibbler at home — he snacks on his food all day long. Since he can’t do that when staying with dogs who snarf down their food the second it hits the bowl, the only way we can guarantee that he’ll get enough to eat is by feeding him the other dogs’ food whenever they eat. He thinks his food is boring, but any other dog’s food is like getting a bowl full of treats!

Wow, he is low maintenance. Maybe Ted’s just a diva. Or divo — whatever the masculine form of that is…
